Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 April 2026

Overview

This website is the personal academic portfolio of Dr Isara Khanjanasthiti, Urban Planner and Researcher at the University of New England (UNE). This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you visit this site and how it is used.

This site does not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for commercial purposes.

Information We Collect

This site collects personal information only when you voluntarily submit the contact form. The following information may be collected:

  • First name and last name
  • Email address
  • The content of your message

Analytics

This site uses PostHog, a privacy-focused analytics platform, to understand how visitors interact with the site. PostHog is configured in cookieless mode, which means:

  • No cookies are set on your device
  • No data is stored on your device (no localStorage, no session storage)
  • No cross-session tracking — each page visit is independent and cannot be linked to previous visits
  • No personal profiles are created for visitors

The following anonymous, aggregate data is collected:

  • Pages visited (e.g. which blog posts, research items, or teaching pages are viewed)
  • Button and link clicks (e.g. "Contact Me", "Download CV", social media links)
  • Search queries entered on the blog page
  • Scroll depth on blog posts (how far a visitor reads)
  • General device information (browser type, screen size, operating system)

This data is used solely to understand which content is most useful to visitors and to improve the site. It cannot be used to identify any individual visitor. No advertising networks or third-party trackers have access to this data.

Analytics data is processed by PostHog (PostHog Inc., based in the United States). For more information, see the PostHog Privacy Policy.

How Your Information Is Used

Information submitted via the contact form is used solely to respond to your enquiry. It is not used for marketing, profiling, or any other purpose.

Contact form submissions are stored in a secure database hosted on Heroku (a Salesforce platform) and are accessible only to the site administrator.

Data Storage & Security

This site is hosted on Heroku and uses PostgreSQL for its database. File uploads (including CVs and images) are stored via Cloudinary, a cloud media management service. Both services implement industry-standard security practices.

While reasonable precautions are taken to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

Cookies & Session Data

This site uses only essential session cookies required for the site to function (for example, to maintain a signed-in session for the site administrator). No tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies are used. Because no non-essential cookies are set, no cookie consent banner is required.

Third-Party Links

This site contains links to external platforms including LinkedIn, ORCID, ResearchGate, Academia.edu, Google Scholar, X (Twitter), and the University of New England. Once you leave this site, this Privacy Policy no longer applies. Please review the privacy policies of any external sites you visit.

Your Rights

You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information you have submitted through this site. To make such a request, please use the contact form or email directly.

Because analytics are collected anonymously and without cookies, there is no personal analytics data to request or delete.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
